Update: 6-10-25

Owners,

Here is the latest update that we have:

The doors on the pool level have been installed.  The roof has been completed as well.  The City inspector came out and approved all of this.  The fire marshal came out a couple of days later and initially suggested that there was an issue with the height of the push bar handles on the doors; however, Danielle reminded him that he’d already sent us an email indicated what was required and we were within those guidelines.  Thankfully, the doors have been approved by the fire marshal as well.

The gate is supposed to arrive this week and be installed.  Of course, we’ve found vendors to be less than reliable, so we are not making any promises.

The fire marshal required us to put a push button release on the sliding doors.  Stanley was supposed to install that today so it could be tied into the fire system; however, the tech told us today that they have “misplaced” the item and will likely have to reorder it.  They promised to expedite it.  This is typical of the types of thing we’ve run into throughout this entire process.  Fortunately, we feel we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

In fact, we are getting close enough now that we’re talking about pool hours.  In the past, the pool was open from 9:00am – 11:00pm.  Danielle suggested that the pool hours be 8:00am – 11:00pm and the Board agreed.  When the pool opens, it will open an hour earlier than in the past.

Hopefully, we’ll have the pool opened soon.  We will keep you updated.

July 4th of 2026 falls on a Saturday.  This means that, if you want to book the 4th for next year, you can submit your reservation request form on July 4th of this year, which falls on a Friday.  Our reservation staff is off on the 4th as it is a holiday, so you may not get your 2026 reservation confirmation may be delayed.  The process remains the same, but you should anticipate a delay in receiving your confirmation.

Pool Update: 5-30-25

Owners,

Here is the latest on the pool:  The pool is just about ready, but we did find an air leak in one of the bottom pool pipes.  All Aqua is looking into it.  We had to replace the door next to the gym and the one at the employee lounge.  Those should be arriving the first of next week and hopefully will be installed relatively quickly.  The gate is being built.  We’ve been told that it is supposed to be done on June 6, but we are hesitant to put a specific date out there because experience tells us that vendors don’t always live up to the dates they suggest.  We filed the permit for the gate and we’re just waiting to hear back from the City.  The slider door that leads out to the pool had to be replaced as well.  This is all due to new code requirements.  The door has to meet specific safety requirements which means we have two companies working on them — one to install the door and the other to wire the door to the fire alarm system.  Everything is in place.  We are just waiting on the permit and for the vendors to finish their work.  We’ll keep you posted.

New Owners’ Rate

During the May Board meeting, a discussion was had about the owners’ rate.  This is the rate charged when an owner books a stay at the resort within two weeks of check-in when rooms are available.  Below is what was captured in the May meeting minutes:

The resort has an owners’ rate for those who book within two weeks of a stay when rooms are available. This rate has not changed for more than 15 years. Fred made a motion to increase the owner’s rate by $10 per night. A one-bedroom unit will now be $65 off-season and $85 in-season. A two-bedroom will be $85 off-season and $105 in-season. These rates are per night plus tax and surcharges. This will take effect starting May 31, 2025. Don second the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Pool Update: 5-18-25

At the bi-monthly Board of Directors meeting held on May 17, 2025, the Board provided an update on the pool and gate.  These were captured in the meeting minutes; however, we are providing some additional details here.  There was a time following Hurricane Milton when the pool pumps were not working.  This was determined to be due to an error on the part of the installers.  These issues have been or are being taken care of; however, during that time, sand became embedded in the curing plastert of the pool, giving it a stained appearance.  The pool company attempted to use a pumice process to get rid of the stains, and while it helped, it was not fully successful.  As such, the pool company must drain the pool and use an acid wash to get rid of the stains completely.  This will take 3 – 6 days to complete.  If you see that the pool has been drained or hear about it, this is why it is being drained.  This should not delay the opening of the pool as we are waiting for the gate to be completed, and the pool should be done before the gate is completed.
